Recycling 23.9.16
We have been learning how to reduce, reuse and recycle. We learned how to use the different bins in our classroom by sorting out lots of rubbish into the correct bins.
Short/Tall
In Maths we did a lot of comparing this week. We heard the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We then compared different sized beanstalks and put them in order from shortest to the tallest. We then put ourselves in order of height.
When We Were Babies
The Baby Clinic has been open for business over the past week. The children really enjoyed this role play area especially as we have been learning about when we were babies and toddlers.

What a great week of learning we have had. In art we have been learning about lines. We founds lots of lines in our classroom and outside in our yard. We had fun drawing them.
We also learned how to make groups/sets in maths. We made different coloured groups, big groups, small groups and we even made a Mayo group!
We also took home today some artwork we made on our 1st day at school. We hope you all like it.
First Day of School
What a lovely first day with a fantastic group of children! We enjoyed playing together in the morning. We learned how to sing our morning song and answer an rolla with anseo. We enjoyed reading the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? We then drew a picture of what we saw and listened to the audio of the the book.
We learned where to line up and had a play in our own yard. We froze when we heard the 1st bell ‘Stopaigí‘ and walked to our line ‘Siúligí’ when we heard the 2nd bell. Mairéad gave everyone a sticker for doing such a great job!
We also met Incy, Wincy Spider and sang his nursery rhyme with actions. Incy is going to tell us what we are learning in school each day. Looking forward to a great term ahead. Here is a short video of our first day at school. Enjoy and see you all tomorrow!
