Fun Friday- Pyjama day!!

Last Friday we had Pyjama day for our Fun Friday and the kids just loved coming into school in their PJ’s!! So did Lisa! 😉 It was lovely and dry so we were able to have a pyjama picnic outside for lunch. We hope you enjoy watching our video below:

What’s in my head? project:

Thanks to Maire Mc, all the adults and the boys and girls for all their hard work to get our projects completed and handed back into school on time. We loved having all the adults in our classroom today to learn more about all the things in their child’s head and also in their friends heads. Thank you for all making such an effort to work together to get our 1st project done! High 5 everyone! 🙂 Check out our video below showing all the lovely work you did!

Family Friday:

We had lots of family members come into our class on Friday to visit us. This is our second Family Friday this year and we are really enjoying it! We had lots of fun reading stories and listening to stories. The children were so excited to see the people they love in school. Here are some pictures of our busy classroom. A big thanks to everyone that made it in on Friday! Hope to see some more faces next month. We will have lots of toys out next time!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!

We were busy making cards for the people we love. We wrote some reasons why we love our Mums and Dads. We hope you enjoy watching our video!!!

Back to school learning and fun:

We have been busy getting back into a routine after our holidays. We have been learning about people who help us, counting, addition and how to ask questions. Below is a video showing some of this learning. We hope you like it!

Owl art:

This week we have been learning all about Owls. We reported on Owls in our English jobs. We have learned what they eat, what they look like, where they sleep and who feeds the baby owls. We read the story Owl Babies and the children really enjoyed it! We decided to make owls using paint, Cheerios and googly eyes. Come and have a look at their hard work!

Parental involvement:

Today we had some adults in our classroom helping us with some art jobs. We have been learning all about ‘Room on the Broom’ in school and we decided to make some witches. The children had great fun making their witches with their adults from home. It was our 1st time inviting the adults into our class and we hope you all enjoyed it! Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it today, there will be lots of more chances to come in and get messy! 🙂 Thanks again from Lisa and all the boys and girls in Junior Infants.

Story Sack Making Class

A story sack is a large cloth bag containing a children’s book with supporting materials to stimulate reading activities and make shared reading a memorable and enjoyable experience. The sack contains soft toys of the book’s main characters, and props and scenery that parents and other adults can use with children to bring a book to life. Take a look the Story sacks the parents made for our Junior Infant class. Well done to all the parents involved. The children give them the thumbs up!
