Welcome to Senior Infants

Welcome to the Senior Infants class page with Verity, Jan and Karen. We hope you enjoy visiting this page and looking at all the interesting things we get up to.

In September we painted pictures of our selves and added paper for our hair.
We wrote about our hair colour and eye colour and something that we liked. Please read our descriptions and look at the pictures and try to guess who each person is.

In science we were learning about our senses. We carried out a variety of investigations to test our senses. we had taste test, hearing tests, touch tests, seeing tests and smelling tests.

In Literacy we have been learning to write recounts. We listened to the story of ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’. We then used our imaginations and went on our own Bear Hunt around the school grounds.
Please watch our video of the Bear Hunt. (coming soon)
After going on a Bear Hunt we were inspired to write recounts of our experience. We put our recounts in a big book and displayed them for the whole school community to share.

We have been thinking about how we have changed since we were babies. We brought in pictures of when we were young. We played guess the baby. We looked at hair colour, eye colour, the colour of our clothes to try to guess who each baby was. Sometimes it was easy to guess other times it was impossible. Take a look at us as babies.

In October we were inspired by nature and the change in season. We thought about Autumn and the signs of Autumn. We went for a walk in the woods.

We used the leaves we collected from the woods to make Autumn pictures of trees. Take a look.
